Depending on the courier, one to three delivery attempts will be made. If the consignee is not home to receive and sign for the shipment, a notice will be left at the door advising if another delivery attempt will be made or where it will be held for customer pickup.
Once a package is in transit it is not possible to add or remove a signature requirement by the shipper.
