ShipNerd's CSV import tool is a great way to import shipping data and create return shipping labels - in batches. Download an example of a CSV file here to see the default header structure (or view below). This is the format your CSV file must be in when you import it into our system.
You can also export a CSV file from ShipNerd to extract a report that has filtered orders with matching tracking numbers in case you need to upload the tracking information to another platform.
Enable the "Return" feature before clicking "Process" to create and email the receivers in your CSV file return shipping labels. ShipNerd will use the default address in your ShipNerd account as the "To" address, and the address in your CSV file as the "From" address.

CSV File Structure Information: Your CSV file will require each of the following columns:

  1. orderId:  This column has to be be unique - each row of data requires a unique order ID. This can be your internal order number or reference number. ShipNerd, will use this number and input it into a reference field, which will print on the shipping label.
  2. Receiver Email: Inputting your receiver's email into this field will ensure that they receive a shipping notification and a label when you create your return shipping label.
  3. Receiver Phone Number: This is a required field.
  4. Company Name: Optional
  5. Name: Required
  6. Address Line 1: Required. This will be the "FROM" address on the return label.
  7. Address Line 2: Typically used for apartment numbers, buzzer codes, or additional information. This field is optional.
  8. City / State / Zip / Country / : All of these fields are required.
  9. Weight: How much does your package weight This is a required field.
  10. Shipping Dimensions (L, W, H): Inputting shipping dimensions is optional, but keep in mind that any rates estimates you see on ShipNerd can only be as accurate as the information you supply to obtain a quote. Every package you ship gets weighed and measured by the courier, so you would end up getting billed for the courier audited dimensions.
